Bud Chiles Renewable Energy Solutions

Bud Chiles is a Florida business and government affairs leader. He has thirty years of governmental and public affairs experience working in Florida, New York, and internationally. Recently, as a candidate for Governor, he promoted energy efficiency and renewable power programs across the state. Currently he is working with a broad group of city and county governments, universities, economic development authorities,  agricultural co-ops, large land-owners, and renewable energy companies on energy efficiency and renewable strategies.

Mr. Chiles seeks to connect federal and industry association resources with communities to benefit his clients, and to enhance energy efficiency and renewable power programs that benefit U.S. jobs and the environment.

He also has a decade of experience as vice-president of the nonprofit charity HOPE worldwide, overseeing programs in the United States, Africa and the Caribbean. Chiles was awarded the prestigious National Health Watch Award in New York City in 1997 for his “Outstanding Contributions to Public Health”.  He also was awarded a Johnson and Johnson Community Health Award.

As president of Chiles Communications in Tallahassee from 1977 to 1993, he represented some of America’s most prestigious corporations including AT&T, Citigroup and Apple Computer.   Chiles served as a board member and executive committee member of the Florida State Chamber of Commerce, as chairman of the Tallahassee Chamber, and as a commissioner on the Future of the South.  Currently he serves as President of The Lawton Chiles Foundation promoting the well-being of Florida’s children.

Chiles is the son of former Governor and United States Senator Lawton Chiles. He graduated from The Hill School, attended Duke University and is a graduate of Stanford University. He lives in Tallahassee, Florida and is married to Katherine Chiles and has three grown children. He is an instrument rated pilot, motorcyclist, and avid outdoorsman.
